a little voice

How do we quiet the voice in our heads? Mine keeps telling me things that I find hard to believe.

If you have the answer, let me know.  Seriously.

    1. Speak scripture outloud (that directly confronts the voice)
    2. Sing a praise song to Jesus (preferably scripture)
    3. Cultivate silent prayer time (takes a lot of practice)

These 3 things have quit any voices that I have heard (and there were many) in my past. Now I can distinguish the voices. There are two voices one hears. The first is demonic- which speaks only lies and causes disharmony and is loud and condemning. The second is the quiet peaceful promptings of the Holy Spirit.
I can’t say that it stops rather, a peaceful mind stayed on the promises of Scripture allows the Holy Spirit to confront the enemy through our mouths.
I am sending you two books for summer reading that have changed my life in this exact aspect. (I’m waiting for one to come in the mail to me!)
Be encouraged! I’ve gone through this and there is an end! :D Jesus is Victor
